I must say when I first saw this shoe I was shocked: The Scary Beautiful
When I read about the artist’s motive that spurred the creation of this contraption I softened my reaction instantly. Maybe there is a link between this utterly impossible shoe and our worldview on beauty as it exists today. It does take exaggeration to point out the flawed in ways to draw real attention to it. The runways do that consistently, not to convince us to wear unwearable gowns but to engage us into accepting change, new concepts, and new ideas. Pushing the envelope is as important to fashion as to art. Having said that they ARE ugly. Or what do YOU think?
